Child Safety & CSAE Policy
Real Estate Development Interactive (REDi)
Community Portal Application | Effective: April 2026
1. Our Commitment
Real Estate Development Interactive (Pty) Ltd (“REDi”) is committed to the safety and wellbeing of children on the Community Portal platform. We have zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including the creation, distribution, or possession of child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, or any conduct that endangers minors.
2. Intended User Base
The Community Portal is a residential property management platform designed for homeowners and residents. Community administrators are responsible for managing access within their respective communities.
3. Prohibited Content and Conduct
The following are strictly prohibited on the Community Portal platform:
- Any content that sexually exploits, abuses, or endangers a minor
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) in any form
- Grooming behaviour or communications targeting minors
- Any attempt to solicit, share, or distribute CSAM
- Content that facilitates trafficking or exploitation of minors
Violations will result in immediate account suspension, content removal, and referral to law enforcement authorities as required by applicable South African law.
4. Platform Features and Safeguards
The Community Portal includes forum functionality and administrator-to-resident messaging. REDi applies the following controls to reduce risk:
- User registration is linked to a verified property sale or invitation from a homeowner or administrator
- Community administrators have the ability to deactivate or restrict user accounts
- Forum content is subject to moderation by administrators
- Direct messaging is limited to administrators contacting residents (residents cannot initiate unsolicited direct messages to other users)
5. Reporting
If you encounter content or conduct on the Community Portal that you believe violates this policy, or that endangers the safety of a child, please report it immediately.
Email: childsafety@red-i.co.za
Subject line: CSAE Report – Community Portal
Reports are reviewed by REDi’s Information Officer and escalated to the relevant community administrator and, where required, to law enforcement.
South African residents may also report child sexual abuse material directly to the South African Police Service (SAPS) or via the Film and Publication Board’s online reporting portal at www.sahotline.org.za.
6. Response and Enforcement
Upon receiving a report of suspected CSAE activity, REDi will:
- Acknowledge receipt of the report within two business days
- Suspend the relevant account(s) pending investigation
- Remove the reported content from the platform
- Notify the relevant community administrator
- Report confirmed CSAM to the relevant authorities
7. Community Administrator Responsibilities
Community administrators (REDi clients) are responsible for the users within their community. This includes management of users, monitoring forum content, and responding promptly to reports escalated by REDi. REDi provides administrators with the tools to deactivate accounts and remove content within their community.
8. Policy Updates
This policy will be reviewed and updated as the platform evolves. Material changes will be communicated to community administrators. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
